IPO Allotment Status: How to Check Your Application Safely

Applied for the Jio IPO or another issue? Here is how to check your IPO allotment status on official sites, what each result means, and the fake links to avoid.

You can check your IPO allotment status on three official places: the BSE website, the NSE website and the registrar's website named in the IPO document. All you need is your PAN or application number. For the Jio Platforms IPO, the basis of allotment is due on 26 October 2026 and the registrar is KFin Technologies.

Allotment day has its own little ritual in many Indian homes. Someone refreshes the broker app every ten minutes, someone else forwards a "check your allotment here" link in the family group, and by evening half the relatives are either celebrating or saying they never wanted the shares anyway. The first two habits are fine. The link in the family group is the one to be careful with.

Three official ways to check

BSE

  • bseindia.com, investors section, application status
  • Choose the issue, enter PAN or application number

NSE

  • nseindia.com, check IPO bids
  • Select the IPO, enter PAN or application details

Registrar

  • KFin Technologies: ipostatus.kfintech.com
  • Other issues may use MUFG Intime (Link Intime) or Bigshare

Steps as summarised by INDmoney. Always type the address yourself.

How do you check IPO allotment status on BSE?

  1. Open bseindia.com and go to the investors section for IPO application status (the page is at bseindia.com/investors/appli_check).
  2. Select "Equity" as the issue type and choose the IPO name from the list.
  3. Enter your PAN or application number.
  4. Complete the captcha and submit.

If nothing appears, try again after a few hours. Allotment data is often uploaded in stages during the day.

How do you check it on NSE or the registrar's site?

On NSE, the "check IPO bids" page lets you select the IPO and enter your PAN or application details. The result should match BSE, though one exchange sometimes updates a little earlier than the other.

The registrar is the company that actually processes the applications. For the Jio IPO it is KFin Technologies, whose status page is ipostatus.kfintech.com. Select the IPO, then search by PAN, application number or demat account details.

When a popular IPO is oversubscribed in the retail category, allotment is decided by a computerised lottery, and selected applicants usually get one lot each. That is why many people who applied for several lots end up with one or none. For the Jio IPO, refunds and share credit are scheduled for 27 October and listing for 28 October 2026.

Big IPOs attract scammers because millions of people are waiting for the same answer on the same day. The market regulator SEBI has cautioned investors about fraudulent activity on social media platforms, and IPO season is a natural target.

  • Type bseindia.com, nseindia.com or the registrar's address yourself
  • Never click "check allotment" links in WhatsApp, SMS or Telegram
  • Do not share OTPs, UPI PINs or demat passwords to "confirm" allotment
  • Ignore offers of guaranteed allotment or a special quota for a fee
  • Check that your broker app shows the same result as the exchange
  • Report suspicious messages to your broker and on the cybercrime portal

A genuine allotment check never asks for payment, OTP or your UPI PIN. Only your PAN or application number is needed.

Her View

The person in the family who is least comfortable with technology is often the one most likely to tap a forwarded link. Before allotment day, sit with your parents or in-laws and show them the official way to check. Five minutes of teaching can save a lot of money and embarrassment.

His Insight

Not getting an allotment in a hot IPO is the most common outcome for retail investors, not a sign that something went wrong. If you were not allotted, your money is unblocked automatically under the ASBA system. Before buying the same stock on listing day, ask whether you would still want it at the listing price rather than the issue price.

H View Verdict

Checking IPO allotment status takes two minutes on BSE, NSE or the registrar's website, using only your PAN or application number. Stick to these official sites, ignore forwarded links, and remember that a "not allotted" result simply means your money comes back.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I check my IPO allotment status?

Use the BSE or NSE website or the registrar's site, such as KFin Technologies or MUFG Intime. Select the IPO and enter your PAN or application number.

When is the Jio IPO allotment date?

The basis of allotment for the Jio Platforms IPO is scheduled for 26 October 2026, with shares credited and refunds started on 27 October and listing on 28 October.

What happens if I don't get an IPO allotment?

The amount blocked in your bank account through ASBA or UPI is released automatically. You do not need to apply for a refund.

Why did I not get shares even after applying for many lots?

When the retail portion is heavily oversubscribed, allotment is done by lottery and selected applicants usually receive one lot each, so applying for more lots does not guarantee shares.
